Silence, written, directed, and edited by Michael Yee, was meant to be a horror/mystery with a twist, but chance played her card when Michael was discussing the script with Producer, Craig A Kocinski, at his unit on the Gold Coast. A friend of Craig’s joined them on his balcony, and after hearing about the film, the floodgates were thrown open and her horrific story unfolded. “We heard about her past sexual abuse, which she apparently hadn’t shared with anyone before. It had left very deep emotional scars. The experience seemed to be cathartic for her”, said Craig. Michael and Craig then realized the film's potential. After many rewrites, and the assistance of child abuse organizations like Advocates of Survivors of Child Abuse (ASCA) and Bravehearts, the film’s script evolved into something that could be easily identified with. It ended up a psychological suspense thriller.
